Instructional Design Librarian

William H. Hannon Library | 2013 - present

 

  • Develop, design, implement, and maintain web-based learning modules and online tutorials accessible through the Libraries’ Web site and integrated into the University’s learning management system in support of the Library’s information literacy learning goals.

  • Develop benchmarks for online instruction and participate in the assessment of online library instructional materials.

  • Provide documentation and training to other LMU librarians on web-based instructional technologies and tutorial software, including Articulate Storyline.

  • Coordinate with the Head of Reference and Instruction, the Instruction Coordinator, and others within the Library to explore and evaluate technologies critical to the design and delivery of online instructional services.

  • Provide in-person and virtual reference services for students, faculty, staff, and the general public utilizing the library’s 300+ electronic databases; print, reference, and special collections; and materials consortium.

  • Provide in-person library instruction to the LMU community through subject lectures and general library orientation.

  • Provide collection development and serve as liaison to Departmental faculty in Women’s Studies.

  • Provide in-person and virtual reference services for students, faculty, staff, and the general public utilizing the library’s 300+ electronic databases; print, reference, and special collections; and materials consortium.

  • Provide and assist in developing in-person information literacy instruction for multiple subjects including English, Communications, and History.

  • Project team member for the design and development of an interactive, online information literacy tutorial aimed at first year undergraduates.

  • Developed a resource guide of standards based, interactive information literacy activities for online tutorials.

  • Developed, collected, and organized information literacy assignments and activities for information literacy flagged courses in LMUs core curriculum.

  • Assist in departmental strategic planning initiatives.

  • Research and develop information literacy assignments and faculty assignment guidelines for “flagged” information literacy courses for a wide range of disciplines.

  • Provide ongoing reference and research for the Center’s publications department and the Center’s Director.
  • Assist in front end website upkeep and development.
  • Assist in developing the Center’s social networking strategy and web presence including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and blogging.
